 Academia, industry on one platform at IIM-A conclave
Ahmedabad: The gap between academia and the industry got underlined as the headhunters and faculty came face to face at IIM-A on Tuesday. Post Graduate Programme for Executives (PGPX) hosted Connextion 2010 – a one-day conclave – has brought together people from the industry and business schools.
“Internal resources of the academic institutes need to be made stronger. The faculty needs to be encouraged to write books not just research papers. Case papers need to reflect reactions and problems from all related parties and not just the corporates. Scope of case papers should be increased and other similar activities should be taken up so that the industry interface is increased,” said Professor Biju Paul Abraham, chairman PGPX, IIM-Calcutta.
Other panellists included Rajiv Krishnan, MD Development Dimensions International (DDI) India; Rajeev Bhadauria, Head Corporate HR, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group; Yogesh Patgaonkar, VP Talent Management, RPG and Professor TV Rao,faculty IIM-A who discussed on the topic ‘Bridging the Divide between Academia and Industry’. |
