 IIM-A placements: 50 offers accepted on Day 2
Ahmedabad: Sunday marked the end of the first cluster of the final placement process at IIM-A for Post Graduate Programme (PGP) students of the batch of 2008-10 . Sunday was not as active as the first day, but sources said that by the end of the first cluster, over 50 offers were made and accepted.
There were approximately 15 companies taking part in the placement process in the first cluster. Though it was a cluster specific for international investment banks, global strategy consulting, global niche consulting and private equity/venture capital, the entire batch was eligible to take part in it, said Vivek Jain, from the student placement committee.
The number of offers made, accepted or salaries offered have not been declared by the institute. However, a source said that around 50 offers were accepted . The next cluster will be held in the coming weekend.
In the last two days, the companies gave presentations and then held interview process for selected candidates. Some of these companies, from the 15 that participated, including Bain & Co, McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, among others. Of these Boston Consulting Group, gave out 8 offers that included preplacement offers also. The same number of offers was made by another regular recruiter McKinsey & Co.
This year, investment banks like Bank of America and Merrill Lynch came back on campus for recruitment after skipping the process last year.
