 Second phase of IIM-A placements begins today
Ahmedabad: The second phase of the final placement season begins on Saturday at the Indian Institute of Management,Ahmedabad (IIM-A ).After the first cluster of global investment banks,constancy and private equity firms,the second cluster will bring Indian insurance banks,global firms offering marketing roles and general management firms.
The process is expected to have a larger number of firms in comparison to the first cluster.In the second cluster,four to six cohorts are expected to be conducted as part of the process.The companies expected on campus include banks,like City Finance and HSBC,FMCG firms like HLL and P&G and other national consulting firms.
There were over 20 firms that participated in the first cluster and around 50 students were placed by the end of it,which also included some pre-placement offers.In the coming two days,the placement committee will be handling a larger number of companies as well as students.
It is from this year onwards that the IIM-A has launched its new cohortbased placement system.Here the companies that offer similar kind of roles and salary packages are clubbed together and are invited on campus together.Four or more cohorts like these make a cluster,that is conducted over a weekend.
