CET glitches stump many MBA aspirants
Mumbai: Even as the online Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) went smoothly for around one lakh students on Sunday, a number of aspirants were unable to appear for the exam due to technical glitches.
Many students have complained that the online registration system crashed even as they were trying to take print outs of their application forms.
On February 3, I filled the online application form and hit the print button. The first two pages of the registration form got printed. But the system shut down just before my admit card could be printed. When I restarted the computer and tried to log in once again, the site said my application ID was invalid. I called the CET helpline and even emailed the MH-CET support system, but got no assistance from either. I personally visited the office of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) but found that I had been rejected for the CET this year, rued a 25-year-old MBA aspirant.
Incidentally, he did not appear for any other MBA entrance test and had pinned all his hopes on the CET.
He is not the only one. A number of MBA aspirants said they had exactly the same problem while trying to register for the CET.
I am really disappointed that I was not able to appear for the CET this time. I will have to postpone my plans of doing an MBA by an entire year, said Geeta Chataule, another disappointed student.
According to one such MBA aspirant, at least 10-12 people have been approaching the DTE with similar problems every day. Some students from other states, including Andhra Pradesh, had the same problems while registering for the Maharashtra CET.
When Anuja Sahgal, an MBA aspirant from Hyderabad, filled in her application form for the Maharashtra CET and printed the details, she did not realise that the admit card was missing.
It was only a week later that I realised that I had no details on the examination centre. I began calling the helpline and sent them emails.I got no response, and was eventually told that I would not be able to appear for the CET, she said.
Frustrated students vented their ire on the internet. Hey guys, I am facing a problem. I cant download my admit card from their website and I have tried everything possible to make it work, but unfortunately its not working. So, are there others who also have the same problem asked one such MBA aspirant on PagalGuy, a popular MBA website.
Despite repeated phone calls and SMSes, S K Mahajan, director of technical education, could not be contacted for comment. |
