Over 20 offers on Day 2
IIM-A PLACEMENTS
Ahmedabad: Indian investment banks, corporate leadership programme and global FMCG operations, were among the cohorts that constituted the cluster two of the final placement process of Indian Institute of Management,Ahmedabad (IIM-A ) on Saturday.
The second cluster of the cohort-based final recruitment process began late Friday evening to allow firms that wished to conduct group discussions before the interviews began on Saturday.Deloitte made 10 offers, including lateral ones, for consulting roles.Other regular recruiters like Tata Administrative Service and Feedback Ventures offered general management and consulting roles, and hired six students each.
Other recruiters on campus included HLL,Procter & Gamble,American Express,Standard Chartered and Nestle.Apart from the offers extended on Saturday,Nestle SA is also in the process of exclusively hiring from IIM-A for its international management & sales training programme. This is the first time Nestle is offering this role in India and it is keen to offer it to IIM-A students.
According to recruitment secretary,Himanshu Nema,It is heartening to see recruiters from a variety of sectors taking a liking to the new cohort based process. One of the innovations this year of separating group discussions and interviews proved crucial in improving the interviewing experience for both interviewers and students. While running the process,it was evident that a considerable amount of pressure was released from the system, thereby firms and students interacted in a better fashion, hopefully resulting in better hiring decisions. |
