MBA, MCA admissions delayed
Ahmedabad: Admission procedure for Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) courses are likely to be derailed as Gujarat University and Saurashtra University are yet to give marksheets to the students.
Officials in the GTU said that the varsity declared the merit list but it excluded students from these two universities. The 1,800 students included 1,200 from Gujarat University and 400 from Saurashtra University.
The GTU on Thursday announced an extension of four days to the students to give their preferences. Varsity sources said the students were to give their preferences for admission latest by Thursday, but since a whopping 1,800 students were left out the GTU decided to extend the date. This is not the first time that the extension has been granted. GTU had already announced two extensions earlier. The two universities had promised they would provide the students marksheets in 10 days, but they have failed to keep up their word.
Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Manish Doshi has said that over 1,800 engineering and pharmacy students have been deprived of admission in MBA and MCA courses because their results have not been declared.
