It’s bumper placement season here
Bangalore: It’s raining offers at IIM-Bangalore: as many as 15 companies visited the campus for the first time this year. Several companies, including Nomura, Temasek, P&G, Enzen, Arvin Meritor and UAE Exchange, offered international positions to candidates.
The 45 women in the batch accepted offers across sectors including investment banking, consulting and PE in India and abroad.
Lateral placements were also at an all-time high owing to the higher degree of average work experience among the current batch. Over 66 offers were made against last year’s 50. Deloitte made 10 offers — the maximum on campus. Other consulting bigwigs like McKinsey and Boston Consulting Group made nine offers each.
Though NGOs were not part of the final placement process, a few students have expressed interest to work with them. As per IIM-B policy, the average salary offered is not disclosed. However, the committee member said there is an increase in average number offers per company.

IIMB associate professor (corporate strategy and public area) P D Jose said many differently-abled students were recruited. “It’s not charity. These students are extremely good but they have a few limitations,” he said. IIM-B’s policy supports these students whereever possible. The placement committee identifies companies which recruit students under the differentlyabled category. Many students opted for Wipro.
