Overview
The Faculty of Management Studies focuses on management education more than just business management. The commitment is thought leadership with a deep understanding of business. The approach to pedagogy combines fieldwork, case studies and instrumented feedback with a strong emphasis on concepts and theory. The intent is to encourage intellectual curiosity and open minds to the adventure of ideas
This year FMS entrance exam will be on December 05, 2010. The deadline for submitting theses applications is by November end.
Selection Procedure
All eligible candidates will be called for a written test, and on the basis of their performance in the test, they will be called for an interview, extempore and group discussion/group task. The candidates will be required to produce original certificates, mark-sheets at the time of interview. The final list of candidates selected for the programme will be announced after conclusion of all interviews.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates applying for admission to the MBA (Full-time) programme must have pursued at least a 3-year Bachelor's Degree programme after twelve years of formal schooling in any of the following disciplines. The minimum requisite percentage of marks in different disciplines is as follows:
Arts, Commerce or Social Sciences - 50%
Sciences - 55%
Mathematics or Statistics - 60%
Medicine, Engineering or Technology- 60% /
CGPA of at least 6 on a scale of 10
OR
- Post Graduate Degree or IInd Degree examination after 10+2+3scheme, securing at least 60%marks.
- Candidates must be at least 20 years of age as on 1st of October of the year of admission
- Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility will be allowed only to candidates of the following categories (SC/ST/OBC/PH/CW)
Note: Candidates in the final year of Bachelor’s Degree/Post-Graduate Degree programme are eligible to apply and appear in the Entrance Test, irrespective of their percentage of scores obtained so far, as long as they expect to fulfill the eligibility criteria when their results are declared. (The candidates will have to provide their final result before 1st October 2011)

Highlights of FMS 2010
An increase in the number of questions
Equal distribution of questions in each section Reading Comprehensions ruled the paper with their length and level of difficulty
Quantitative Ability section was a tame mouse - easy to conquer
Reasoning Ability section was the plum on the cake - a visual delight
Programmes Offered
Master Of Business Administration (Full Time)
Each student comes to FMS with unique professional and personal reasons for pursuing a masters' degree in business administration. The curriculum includes a range of courses that take advantage of new teaching methods and the reinforcement of basic skills and concepts. The first year comprises of core subjects. In the second year you take a decision to specialize in a particular discipline like Finance, Marketing or Systems. One can even decide upon a general management degree.
The intake of this programme for 2011 is 226 participants.
