 IRMA Overview

IRMA was established in 1979 at Anand, Gujarat with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC), the Government of India, the Government of Gujarat, erstwhile Indian Dairy Corporation and the National Dairy Development Board to provide management education, training, research and consultancy support to co-operatives and rural development organisations in India.

Eligibility

for PRM

Graduate with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education having 50% (45% for SC/ST/PWD) aggregate marks or an equivalent GPA from a recognized Indian or Foreign University/Institution are eligible to apply. The percentage of aggregate marks is to be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned University/Institution. Final year students, who expect to obtain 50% aggregate marks and will complete all the requirements of graduation before June 09, 2008 can also apply. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

for FRPM

This is a doctoral level residential programme for the people who need specialized knowledge, skills and attitudes for positions requiring conceptual and visioning skills in the co-operatives and development organizations. The main objectives of the programme are

to establish rural management as a separate discipline,
to develop researchers and scholars in the field of rural management,
to create a body of knowledge in the field of rural management, and
to stimulate academic and research work at IRMA in the field of rural management.

Each participant of the programme receives a fellowship and contingency grant. Many of the participants have received good offers for teaching and research assignments even before completion of their programme.

 Selection Procedure

All eligible candidates, including sponsored candidates, will have to appear for a written test comprising four sections: English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Analytical Skills and Issues of Social Concern.

Candidates selected on the basis of the written test will be invited for group discussions and personal interviews with the Institute’s faculty at Anand during February-March.

The sectional cut-off is pre-fixed at 25+ and a candidate fulfilling this criterion is automatically eligible for the GD/PI round.

 How to Apply for PRM and FPRM

There is a common application form for all the academic programmes of IRMA. An applicant can opt for one of the following options:

  • Printed application material (prospectus, application forms, etc.) may be obtained from Admissions Office, IRMA, Anand - 388 001 on payment of full fees.

  • Application material is available with IMS learning centres on cash payment of full fees. IMS accepts fees for one programme only. An applicant applying for more than one programme can send the remaining amount by DD.

  • Apply online and pay through payment gateway.

  • Download the personalized application form from IRMA website and submit along with the full fee.

Prospectus and sample question papers will be sent to the candidates opting for options c or d, after their applications are received at IRMA

All the payments to IRMA should be made in the form of a demand draft favouring ‘IRMA’ payable at Anand. Candidates should retain a copy of the completed application form for their reference. The Completed applications should reach to IRMA on or before September 30, 2009. Postal delay is not the responsibility of IRMA. Application forms without the requisite fees will not be accepted.
