Introduction

Padmabhushan (Late) Shri Karamshibhai Jethabhai Somaiya, an entrepreneur and philanthropist, established Somaiya VidyaVihar in 1959, with a vision to serve the educational needs of the society at an affordable cost. Somaiya Vidyavihar, spread over 72 acres of green land, is home to various faculties such as Management, Engineering, Humanities, Science, Commerce, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Journalism & Mass Communication, Linguistics and Religion. A part of this campus, K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research was established in 1981 to serve the needs of management and research.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (2 years) - Full Time

Post Graduate Diploma in Management- International Business (2 years) - Full Time

Eligibility

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration with minimum 50% marks, of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. Candidates appearing for the final year degree examination in the year 2010 can also apply subject to furnishing the proof of graduation on or by 31st July, 2010, failing which the students will forfeit their admission.

Admission Procedure

To apply to SIMSR for the two year full time PGDM Programme, the student is required to appear for the CAT exam to be held from the last week of November over a period of 7 days, and apply to SIMSR on a separate online application form which is available on the SIMSR website http://simsr.somaiya.edu

Application Form

Rs.1550/- by Demand Draft (DD) in favor of “K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research” payable at Mumbai OR Receipt of Learning Centers (Career Forum / IMS / Career Launcher / Professional Tutorials) OR online payment by Credit Card.

- PGDM:- 120 seats.
- PGDM(IB):- 60 seats.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Retail Management (2 years)

Eligibility

Graduate in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks from any University (recognised by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) AICTE).

Admission Procedure

Institute will use SAT (Somaiya Admission Test) score which will be conducted online followed by GD, PI, & Written Communication Test.

Master of Management Studies (MMS) (2 years)

Selection Process

Selection through Common Entrance Test (CET) and a Centralised Admission Procedure conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra. 50% of seats are reserved for Gujarati Linguistic Minority Quota.
